Installing A Soaker Hose

Watering the garden is a summer necessity in Northern Virginia. The use of a soaker hose can save you time and water and reduce the frequency of watering. Soaker hoses have tiny holes placed along their length, and are typically made from recycled car tires.

The hose is strategically placed on the ground, tucked beneath a layer of mulch so water can slowly seep into the roots around your trees, shrubs, flower beds and planters. Water reaches the roots slowly so it is better absorbed and does not evaporate away.
